Prima di tutto di cosa stiamo parlando.
A fine 2012 sono comparsi i primi schizzi di una interessante rivisitazione di Mazinger Z.
Di queste reinterpretazioni se ne vedono molte varianti, ma quasi tutti sono custom creati da artisti privati e quasi mai imboccano la strada dalle commercializzazione. Fa eccezione Fewture, con i suoi ex gokin e prima ancora con la serie in PVC, dove venivano proposte due varianti dello Zeta, seguendo filosofie diverse. Trovate le recensioni qui e qui.
Quando cominciarono a circolare i primi bozzetti, dicevo, pochi degli appassionati dei super robot conoscevano la Threezero, comprese me, ma con il passare del tempo e la pubblicazione di foto più dettagliate, la cosa si è fatta interessante e quindi ho provato a fare loro qualche domanda sul progetto dello Zeta e sui prossimi sviluppi, ecco cosa mi hanno risposto:

Mcorner: There recounting a bit ‘of your company, in particular, why you have thought about revisiting the Mazinger Z?
Kelvin: We find our painting style to be the perfect match for the giant mechanic robots and we are are all fans here of Japanese manga & anime. -

Mcorner: You can Tell us about some curiosity about the design of Mazinger Z?
Kelvin: I tried to keep some signature elements of Mazinger Z, like pointy ears, mouth with vertical air duct vent, Hover Pilder on top of his head and the two red armor plates on his chest. By the way, Go Nagai san(永井 豪) wanted to put more heavy industrial elements onto our Mazinger Z, I added heavy industry feeling, WW2-looking technology, adding big bolts and nuts, kind of old style machine, sci-fi but not too advance looking. Something entirely new been added as well, Mazinger Z comes with a new weapon – interchangeable Iron Cutter with Mighty Knuckles. We hope this crossover design can give consumers a new feeling, while keeping the old Mazinger Z vibe alive.

Purtroppo non si sono sbottonati sui progetti futuri, ma è già interessante che si parli di altre lavori in cantiere. Per il momento sono stati diffusi interessantissimi render dell’Afrodite.
Pur mantenendo la rivisitazione sullo stile del predecessore, sembra puntare ad un look un pelo meno estremo, soprattutto nella parte inferiore del corpo.
Non resta che attendere e vedere come si evolverà la linea, anche se purtroppo, difficilmente riuscirò a recensire questi modelli.
